We designed the flat bottom drawstring bag pattern with the beginner sewer in mind. The flat bottom drawstring bag includes 2 options. The 1st flat bottom drawstring bag option includes an open pocket and the 2nd flat bottom drawstring bag option includes a zipped pocket. Both flat bottom drawstring bag options are for the beginner to intermediate sewer and include detailed instructions with step-by-step pictures.
The fabric we used is sports nylon because it dries fast and pet screen mesh on the bottom to make this bag excellent for the beach or pool but you could use whatever fabric you like. If you are afraid of these fabrics - don't be! Nylon and mesh are easy to use with your regular sewing machine!
Between the quick drying fabric and grab and go pocket this bag has me ready for summer! I don't know about you but sewing in winter can be isolating even sewing in/for summer seems more exciting. Maybe it's just the Midwest talking.
The boys love having a special drawstring bag but most of all a SWIM bag! I don't know if those are magic words like they are for my children but knowing and packing these bags ahead of time will be a game changer because you always have to bring ALL THE TOYS, sunscreen, extra clothes, and more when heading to the water!
